All the rooms are either 2 queens or 1 king, plus a "sofa bed" - which is a 3 inch folding mattress that you want to be sure no adult has to sleep on. We were surprised that even though all 5 of us paid the same price, that only 4 would be given the luxury of an actual bed. But if you have more than 4, be sure to draw straws to find out who will get the pull out couch for sleeping. Pools, restaurants, bars and facilities in general are very nice. Our first time at the Royalton and as a family of 5 we enjoyed our stay. Overall a nice resort but wouldn’t return due to the beach mainly. The service from the staff was great, very friendly & accommodating.
The hydrotherapy wasn’t anything fantastic, but massage was well worth it! It was spectacular! Book him! Incredible experience. I had a massage at the Spa, deep tissue with Abdiel. For lunch the Nibbles had good enchiladas & chicken strips which saved the week, but heavy on gluten/dairy! The only healthy option was the salad bar at the buffet. There wasn’t a single berry all week, just melons & papaya & bananas. He lived on croissants, cucumbers and cheese because the kids food was awful. One night I was frustrated I went to the buffet at 6pm, loaded up my babys snack tray on his stroller this way he was taken care of. Room service was absolutely awful for dinner options, so feeding your infant beforehand wasn’t possible. We complained every time, got loads of apologies but the same thing happened every night. We would make reso’s at 6pm (opening), rarely get an appetizer before 7pm, mains around 7:45pm. The biggest issue was getting the kids fed. The buffet was better than the other restaurants, sadly. The only restaurant that was fabulous was the steakhouse (get the salmon!). The kids pool area is fantastic, entertained the kids for hours! If you’re a beach person, this is not the resort for you. We made a few sand castles but never got to enjoy swimming in the Ocean. The seaweed, rockiness was not enjoyable. The property is beautiful, well manicured + well laid out. The Paradissus Punta Cana was far better in this category as they set up/reserved your beach/pool areas, and prepared special surprises for the kids every day! Our concierge was lovely (Gustavo), but they don’t do as much as other properties we have been to in the past. The concierge service is nice, although they generally only organize dinner reservations and celebrations. Also we were near the Diamond pool & were served drinks to our swim up which was the best! It was by far the best room we have ever had, very spacious with areas for everyone to sleep privately! Our room was 6118, which was fantastic as it got loads of sun.
This allowed us to enjoy our time together while the baby napped & truly relax. We got the 1bdrm luxury suite with swim out, which we highly recommend. We stayed at this property last week, traveling with a 12 month old & an almost 5 year old.

Gustavo was great and if you go to the pool look for him for the best service!! We also booked a tour with the zip lining, snorkeling and 4 wheelers with Nexus tours which is right there at the hotel. The buffet is amazing, they have so much to pick from, you will never leave hungry! The staff is so helpful and go out of their way to help you in anything you may need! One of The best was our waiter at the Royalton pool named Gustavo Casrera, spelling of his last name may not be spelled right, but the resort should have him be in charge of training the waiters because he was amazing! We had two others that didn’t come around very often and when we ordered it took them forever to bring drinks and sometimes they never came back. We loved the steakhouse and hibachi, but if you want to do the hibachi you need to make a reservation, so go there at 2:30 with drink in hand because the line forms fast! If you go to any of the restaurants you will want to stop and put your name on waiting list and then go to room to shower and get ready for dinner. The resort is beautiful, clean and views are amazing! The food was so good.
